Tom Acomb

Tom Acomb


Tom is a dynamic leader with a passion for innovative design and execution. He started with Walt Disney Entertainment as an intern from the University of Cincinnati and worked on several large, international media events at the Walt Disney World resort, taking a full time position after college. Upon transferring to Walt Disney Imagineering, the storied creative division at Disney, he became Senior Leader for many projects worldwide. Living for 6 years as an expatriate in Europe, Tom led the design and construction of the Disney Cruise Line cruise vessels and managed the concept development and construction of "The Disney Studios PARIS" in France.

In 2005, he joined the Ginn Development Company, where he led the design and construction efforts for the company’s most complicated and luxurious projects located along the East Coast. Over his course of time at Ginn, $250 million in amenity projects were put into place in just 3 years, many of which were the recipient of prestigious awards for architecture and construction. Tom was later recruited by The Olympia Companies in Portland, Maine. During his tenure with the Olympia team, Tom led the concept and feasibility for a spectrum of projects that ranged from luxury resorts on the West Coast to adventure theme parks in the Northeast. Tom’s unique vision and skilled execution are the driving forces behind the successful completion of each of his projects.

Mike’s 18 years of experience in design and construction has proved invaluable to clients worldwide. Mike began his career in General Contracting upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati's School of Construction Management. He served as a Project Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering and throughout his tenure he delivered several of the most complicated and schedule-sensitive projects in their portfolio. Mike's efforts led to the success of Walt Disney World's Millennium Celebration and numerous other projects during his 11 years with Disney. As Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Development at Ginn Development Company, Mike managed 70 employees and was responsible for $500 million in real estate development projects across the Southeast USA and the Caribbean Islands.

By communicating direction and providing insight to team members and clients, Mike is able to smoothly navigate them through the rigid process of controls that is required for the delivery of a successful project. Mike is the strategist behind AO&A and brings his world class knowledge of project management to each effort he takes on. His experience and steadfast leadership talents are recognized on a national scale. Teamwork, process and overall drive for success within his projects are what make Mike an industry leader.

 

 

Dave Van Loon

Dave brings with him more than 40 years of experience and is often referred to as AOA’s encyclopedia of construction. Since completing his distinguished service with the United States Marine Corps in 1968, Dave has been active in the construction industry. He spent the first half of his career building highly complicated manufacturing infrastructure facilities for companies such as The Ford Motor Company and General Motors in Detroit. Upon leaving Detroit, Dave spent several years in the healthcare industry as a development executive for large-scale hospital and healthcare facilities. Dave built high-tech medical facilities across the Southeast USA, including the Cape Coral Hospital in Florida. Later in Dave’s career, he managed the development and construction of several luxury hospitality projects including hotels, condominiums and private clubs throughout South Florida. Dave is a licensed general contractor and his abilities in managing the construction process are unmatched nationwide. As a member of the AOA team, Dave brings a solution to every challenge and a calculated, flawless approach to getting the job done.
