Alexandra Carmona

Alexandra joins the AOA design team with five years of hands-on scenic fabrication experience. Her skills include sculpture, carpentry, mold-making, casting, fiberglass, metal working and more. As a project manager of her former fabrication team, Alexandra guided artists in the production of high-quality props and scenery for clients such as Disney, Universal Studios, Pentair Aquatic Ecosystems, and NVE Experience Agency. In addition to the artistic skills required for fabrication, Alexandra excelled in the organization, leadership, budgeting, and communication required for project management. Alexandra led the team of artists responsible for the queue line props at Disney’s Frozen ride at Epcot, Disney’s Swiss Family Treehouse, as well as props and specialty lighting fixtures for The Edison at Disney Springs.

During the installation of props at The Edison, Alexandra worked closely with facilities management, contractors, and electricians, ensuring that all items exceeded the expectations of clients and guests. Successful installation of props and scenery requires Alexandra’s flexibility as well as quick and effective problem solving. She is proficient at understanding the strengths of her team members and utilizing those strengths to produce work of the best possible quality, while always prioritizing safety.

A native of Upstate New York, Alexandra’s endeavors in Orlando began as an artist/carpenter at Orlando Shakespeare Theater. This led her to a career in scenic fabrication and a growing passion for themed entertainment. As a new addition to the team at AOA, Alexandra is looking forward to building additional skills in design as well as developing relationships with new clients & vendors.
