ASSOCIATE PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Amara has been working as a scenic painter for over 7 years at various shops, from the theatrical, to corporate, cruise ships and theme parks. Her experience has given her an eye for composition on a large scale. Amara is currently supporting Disney in multiple efforts. She has always had a passion for taking a design and making it a reality. As an Associate Scenic Designer she is contributing to the designs, as well as continuing to directly help bring them to life.
For Disney, on Pandora - The World of Avatar, Amara assisted with establishing the paint treatments and finishes for the buildings, light poles, handrails, and other area development features. She also supported the painting, fabrication and decoration of props and paintings in the queue Flight of Passage, Pongu Pongu and Satu'li Canteen. Amara also supported Disney's Frozen Ever After working with the paint vender to complete the project on time, assiting with painting and field art direction throughout the ride and figuring finish on spare costumes and parts for the animatronic figures. Aided with the painting of building structures, prop tie in and rockwork throughout the seating areas was also completed by Amara for Disney's River of Light.
A few other Disney projects that she assisted are: maquettes of characters for the new Toy Story Land, Discovery Island's new merchandise building, Tiffin's Restaurant, redesign of Tomorrow Land rockwork, Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, The Incredible Hulk ride and SeaWorld's Infinity Falls.
Design and painting is the glue that holds a created world together, it is what captivates people and that is what drives Amara's passion as part of the AOA Team.
