David has over 35 plus years of comprehensive experience in design, architecture, and construction. He has been involved in all phases of architecture from blue sky concepts through on site construction administration and has a deep understanding of project development and the many influences that can impact it. His career has provided him the opportunity to work on extensive assortment of project types including themed entertainment, public safety, government, civic, commercial, retail, hospitality, museums, mixed use, theaters and historic preservation. His creative innovations in public safety design were implemented on a national level and he authored numerous articles and seminars in the promotion of these concepts.
David's true passion in design is in the realm of Themed Entertainment. This came from working for W.E.D. Enterprises (now Walt Disney Imagineering) early in his career and had a profound influence on his professional development and approach to design. The creativity and innovation that evolves from these types of projects and the resulting jubilant impact it has on people is uniquely satisfying as a designer. He learned that creating unforgettable immersive experiences required a relentless attention to detail at all levels and a commitment to the story and program. This vision could be applied to all project types, large or small, with the impact on the end user always in the forefront. He also learned that the attention to detail included creating designs that were constructable, durable and affordable. He continues to exhibit these principles in the development of contract documents and project management and mentors young architects and designers to utilize the many tools available to enhance that required "attention to details".
David has completed design projects for numerous clients including Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld. His themed entertainment project experience includes the Via Napoli Italian restaurant, France Bakery and Ice Cream Parlor, China Lotus Blossom Restaurant at Disney's EPCOT, Morimoto Asia, Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs, The Incredible Hulk Ride at Universal Orlando and 4-D theater concepts in Ya'nan, China and Sydney, Australia. Recent experience has included projects for Virgin Cruise Lines, SeaWorld, Merlin Entertainment LEGOLAND and the Lion's Pride Pub and Grill co-owned by Orlando City Soccer. David's past experience includes projects at Orlando International Airport, the islands of Molokai and Maui in Hawaii and twenty states.
